The anti-microbial working of AMPower® originates from a surface that is capable of inactivating microbes by solvating and disrupting the lipid‐based envelope of the microbes, including bacteria and viruses.
A current significant research advancement lies in utilizing anti-microbial biomaterials in coating applications as AMPower®. This approach has the potential to minimise the lifespan of microbe particles on surfaces, thereby minimising the cleaning cycle and halting the spread of microbe pollution on the surface.
The AMPower® coat makes use of a proprietary compound, which has been proven to be an anti-microbial polymer due to its ability to rupture the cell membranes by interaction with the polycationic chains.
